Brand New Music Development Project for 2010
As most of you know, I was in a band called My Red Angel with a bassist called Liz Witkowski. Recently, Liz moved down to brighton and we were back in a band together again.
To cut a long story short, that band ended rather abruptly after Liz had been part of it for all of three weeks. But that did not spell the end of Liz and I doing something together…
After a very official business meeting last night (2 hour moan in the pub about not doing anything constructive enough), we have the basic ideas for a brand new project which will incorporate our individual and combined experiences & skills as well as heavily involve the FC Music Project and AudioBeach Studios.
Liz and I will be heading up a brand new Youth Band Development service; we’ll be signing a couple of young bands (between 16-19 years old) and developing them over the next 12-18 months in to a professional gigging band who will be ready for a full record deal by the end of their time with us. We’ll record them, produce them, turn them into professionals, get them on the gigging circuit, organise merchandise & photoshoots, warn them of the pitfalls, give them reality checks; all this with a view to getting the signed to a decent label and get their careers off to the right start… We’ll give them the help that most bands need but have no idea where to get it from.
We’re yet to work out the exact details and contract details, but we’re very excited about this. More information will be available soon and also details of how you can recommend a young band that you know need help.
